On May 4, 2009 a new restaurant opened up here in Waconia- Ray Azteca! Ray Azteca is located in the strip mall next to Mackenthun’s grocery store! We were first introduced to Ray Azteca through their restaurant in Chanhassen- and it quickly became one of our favorite go-to places!! Needless to say we were very excited to see them open even closer to home! Since their Waconia opening we have eaten there a few times and we highly recommend them!
Their food is very good, the menu is expansive, prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is a lot of fun! Check them out and I bet they become one of your “go-to” places too!

My family ate at this restaurant on one of the 1st days it was open(May 5th) and we were so put off by the bad service. The server rolled his eyes and tapped his foot when my wife tried to order and the food took a long time. We went to the manager to explain the situation and stressing to him we want nothing in return just to make that server aware of his rude behavior so this does not happen to other customers. The manager just said “well, that is your opinion” no appolgies… nothing! After this the manager went to the server and spoke spanish right in front of us and they were laughing. It took a while to express this bescause we were so hurt. My family will never step foot in that restaurant again. I am shocked to have such a rude establishment in the town I love.
