The name brands are coming.

Kwik Trip is up and running and I’ve been there several times. Not only are the gas pumps fast, but the store has lots of goodies inside and the car wash even made a point to wash my rims.

Target should have a groundbreaking yet this fall. The 145,000 square foot store should open in October of 2008.

AmericInn is almost done too. It could be complete this October but not sure when the opening date may be.

And Walgreens may be coming to town. The city is going to review plans for a store at the intersection of 284 and 5. Personally I don’t think that’s a good location with the intersection being so busy, but something going to pop-up eventually.

While on Holiday gas station yesterday, I noticed that the E85 sign was up, just backwards so that most can’t read it.

Holiday will be the first station, to my knowledge, that offers E85 gas in Waconia.

E85 FlexFuel vehicles can run on either gasoline or E85 - a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline or a combination of both. E85 ethanol fuel is a cleaner-burning, mostly renewable fuel source made from U.S.-grown biomaterial, such as corn or other grain products. It helps reduce greenhouse gases and can enhance the nations economy and energy independence.

Check out the E85 vehicles list as you may be able to use this cleaner, cheaper fuel in your vehicle today!

Also, keep your eye on Holiday as I’m not sure when the E85 will arrive.

You can’t quite see it yet, but there’s a Kwik Trip in the works for Waconia! Off of County Road 30 and Highway 5 the new gas station, connivance store and car wash will sit.

Personally I like Kwik Trips as they have decent food, clean stores, nice car washes, rock your pop drinks, no-fee atms and some even have E-85. However, I don’t see how we need yet another gas station but I’ll give Kwik Trip my business!!

Kwik Trip is one of the businesses that will appear in that area. I hear more shops are planned as that area quickly expands.
