Candy Cane Hunt This Saturday
Hunt for hidden Candy Canes in City Square Park on Saturday, December 3rd. The search will begin at 10:00am and will end when all have been found! (about 15 minutes) This event is FREE so stop on by and check in at the Gazebo.

Waconia’s city park has been closed for most of October while it underwent some renovations. But now it’s back open and better than ever. Verizon Officially Comes to Town
We reported a while back that a Verizon store opened in town. Turns out it was quickly re-brand to Two Men Wireless which sells Verizon phones. Now, Verizon has officially opened a store across from Kwik Trip. That’s great news for Verizon customers!
Scarecrows Coming to Town
Starting October 6th, scarecrows will be invading Waconia. The 5th annual scarecrow contest will partner ideas from the community with business to create fun and interesting scarecrows. They will then be placed around town for everyone to enjoy. The contest officially goes from October 6 to the 9th, but most scarecrows will probably be up through Halloween.
Fireman’s Fall Pancake Breakfast Sunday
Twice a year the Waconia fire department has a pancake breakfast and the next one is Sunday October 2nd. For $6 you get pancakes, sausage, and french toast and it’s always good. Kids 5 and under are free. Plus they get to hang out with firemen and learn about fire safety.
Family Safety Fair Saturday September 24th
The Family Safety fair is Saturday September 24th from 9:30am to 11:30 am. It’s free and open to kids 0 to 6 years old and has lot so fun activities. Ground Round Coming to Waconia
Yesterday the word was Champps, today it’s Ground Round. I don’t know if they switched restaurants, or if we are getting both, but I have been able to confirm that the city has approved the sight plans for Ground Round over by the AmericInn. No idea when construction would start or when it’d open.
Champps Sports Bar Coming To Waconia.
I heard a rumor, from a very credible source, that Champps is looking to build a sports bar in Waconia. The location would be over by the AmericInn. I haven’t been able to confirm this, but my source is pretty reliable. Hopefully it’s true!
