At least the 6th best in the metro. And i never have too much of an issue on most nights since the smoking ban kicked in, but.. Hoppers is nearly unbearable on weekends. The "regulars" music rotation is bad enough, but god forbid Snoop Dawg and his posse roll up and it gets even worse. uh, uh, what, what, uh, yeah...whoa. Great. Just great. Nickelback and Snoop. The menu changes enough to make it interesting, the ingredients are amazing and the creativity makes for alot of discussion. We have been there at least a dozen times and not had a single bad meal or experience. Tom is a great host and he has a nice staff as well. my wife and I have been on our way into Minneapolis with reservations somewhere and have stopped, turned around and come back to the Green Room! it's that good. The best food around Waconia, period.

We had a very good dinner and thought the prices were reasonable. My husbands only suggestion was that he really wished they offered a hotter/spicier sauce option in addition to the ones they have now. It is much like the sister restaurants O'Donovans and Jake O'Connors with the dark, wood decor, and a nautical theme. The layout and fireplace are homey and quite an upgrade from Nancy's Landing. For Waconia, it's downright FANCY (hell, they have logos on their napkins!). In fact I wonder if they know something about the demographics us long-time residents don't: they have a $21 pizza and a $40 steak on the menu. We sampled the pizza, artichoke dip, steak, chicken tenders, sweet potato fries, a salad and a dessert. I know they are just getting up and running so I can't say anything too subjective - and please, judge for yourself - but the best part of our meal was the salad and the fries. While we need new options and I love the city restauranteurs coming out to little ol' Waconia, they need to up the ante on the cuisine for those prices. The view, bar, and decor are top notch. I know the service will get there in time. Give me a margarita on the deck and I'll be smiling all summer. However, I'll head up to Main Street for my actual dinner. I went there and was unimpressed by the frozen patty burgers I could get at Mackenthun's. Had a burger at Hoppers: now I'll never settle for a Saloon burger again. I like the ambience at The Saloon better if I'm just drinking with a couple friends, but Hopper's is superior, in my opinion. My wife and I use the Waconia Vet Clinic for boarding for extended periods.
