The 2008 Lake Waconia Band Festival kicks off on Saturday June 16th at 6pm.

This year is the 10th annual festival and scheduled to appear are:

3. Annandale Marching Cardinals - A
4. Milaca High School - A
5. Maple Grove Marching Crimson - AAA
6. Richfield Marching Spartans - A
7. Winona Cotter Marching Band - A
8. Owatonna Marching Band - AA
9. Sauk Rapids-Rice Marching Storm - A
10. Osseo Marching Band - AAA
11. Champlin Park Marching Rebels - AA
12. Alexandria Marching Band - AAA
13. Litchfield Marching Dragons - AA
14. St. Cloud All-City Marching Band - AA
15. Mankato 77 Lancers - AAA
16. Park Center Marching Pirates - AAA
17. Waconia High School Marching Band - Host

The Lake Waconia Band Festival is marching into town on June 16th. The parade starts at 6pm and marches down Main Street in downtown Waconia. No floats, no clowns nothing but marching band after marching band.

I’m not sure why this is so big, but it really is. Tons of people and dozens of bands show up rain or shine. If you haven’t been to it before, it’s worth checking out. That is, unless you dislike marching bands.

If you plan to travel anywhere downtown on the 16th, be aware that I’ll be crowded and driving won’t be easy. If you live anywhere near downtown, you’ll get to hear the music if you want to or not.
